Diyala "success" means another soldier dies

How could this be? Don't the "terrorists" know that Diyala is "pacified"? Didn't they see that we have the ability to take Congresspeople on heavily guarded tours of the province?
It's time to launch "Operation Fox News" to convince the "terrorists" that they don't even exist. Then they'll fade away into mist and all will be well again.

U.S. soldier killed in bomb attack in Iraq

An American soldier was killed by a roadside bomb explosion in the volatile Diyala province, northeast of Baghdad, the U.S. military said on Thursday.

The explosion struck the soldier's vehicle during combat operations in the province on Wednesday, a military statement said.

The name of the soldier is being withheld pending notification of next of kin, it added.

Diyala province, which stretches from the eastern edges of Baghdad to the Iranian border, has long been the hotbed of insurgency and sectarian violence since the U.S.-led invasion in 2003.

The latest death brings the number of U.S. soldiers who have been killed in Iraq to more than 3,730 since the outbreak of the Iraqi war in 2003, according to media count based on Pentagon figures.
